I highly enjoy looking at wedding photos and getting ideas, a photographer seems to have a way to show the whole love story through pictures alone. I have a favorite Minnesota photographer, Laura Ivanova. She also does New York weddings as well... here's a link to her blog:

It's very important to spend the time and effort finding your wedding photographer, everything else from your day will eventually end, but your pictures are going to last forever. Don't spend all your money on the "best" photographer. A reasonable photographer can start as low as $1500. Make sure you read all the small print, see if they allow you the rights to the photo's, see if they include an engagement session, maybe they'll include a slideshow session with you and your groom. Also, make sure you meet with the photographer before you hire them, the last thing you want is to not get along with them.
